Dear Members and Non Members,
I am pleased to share an update on the continued progress being made regarding the Private Security Regulations 2025. In recent weeks, we have held constructive discussions with members of the Victorian Security Industry Advisory Council and several policy advisers. These meetings allowed us to outline key areas of legislation that remain problematic for investigators, while also highlighting practical solutions to reduce compliance pressure across the sector. We also addressed the ongoing 1.8% Portable Long Service Leave contribution, which officials acknowledged places an unfair burden on investigation firms and requires further review.
Encouragingly, we have now been invited to further high-level discussions, including a potential meeting with the Deputy Premier, to examine broader systemic issues affecting both the Private Security and Investigation industries.
Thank you for your continued support as we work to ensure future reforms genuinely reflect the realities of our profession.
Yours faithfully,
Stephen Scahill
President
