Member Update: Key Insights from Our June Committee Meeting

Dear Members,

As we head into the second half of the year, the AISP Committee is hard at work streamlining our operations, enhancing member value, and setting a strong foundation for the future of our industry.

Here is a summary of the key outcomes and upcoming initiatives from our June 30th Committee Meeting.

1. Governance & Operations: Professionalizing Our Reach

To keep our association running smoothly and ensure all voices are heard, the committee is refining attendance and communication protocols:

Committee Attendance: Moving forward, if a committee member cannot attend a scheduled meeting, they must send a representative on their behalf. The committee is also re-exploring a proxy attendance option (limited to 1–2 meetings per member).

New Association Phone Line: We are in the process of rolling out a new phone number for the association. To manage our volunteer committee’s time effectively, we are designing a clear flow-chart system. The line will be answered during specific daily windows (e.g., 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM), with all other times routing to a voicemail system that automatically alerts our administration team for fast, prioritized action.

2. Setting Mutual Expectations & New Onboarding

We want to ensure every member succeeds while maintaining the high standards of our profession:

New Orientation Packs: Incoming members will soon receive a dedicated onboarding pack focused heavily on legislative compliance and best accounting practices.

A Living Standard: Many businesses entering the field are unaware of the baseline regulatory standards required of them (such as the Office of Fair-Trading requirements in Queensland). We will be utilizing new prescribed forms and streamlined digital procedures to help highlight these standards while protecting the capacity of our volunteer committee.

3. Launching Our Monthly Newsletter

You are reading the blueprint of things to come! Rather than overwhelming your inbox weekly, the committee has agreed to a minimal, easy-to-digest Monthly Newsletter featuring three consistent sections:

President’s Letter to Membership: Keeping you centered on our collective purpose.

Legal & Legislative Updates: Quick summaries with direct links to the details you need to stay compliant.

Member Expectations: A collaborative space where we present 1 or 2 mutual expectations as a “living document,” encouraging discussion and linking directly to prescribed forms on our website.

Note: The official rollout of the newsletter and new policies may be adjusted slightly to ensure our compliance frameworks are robust.

4. Meeting Innovation: Staggered CPD Points & Recordings

We want our meetings to be accessible, but we also highly value the power of in-person networking. To balance both, we are launching an online recorded meeting initiative:

The Structure: Members will soon be able to purchase online copies of recorded meetings. To ensure this remains a fair tool for remote members rather than a substitute for local attendance, a staggered CPD points system will be introduced.

CPD Allocation: Initially, watching a recorded meeting will grant the full 4 points. Over time, this will see a staggered decline down to 2 points.

Pricing: The cost to purchase these recordings will be set slightly lower than in-person attendance, ensuring accessibility without devaluing the product.

Next Meeting

Our next committee meeting is tentatively scheduled for July 28, 2026, at 10:30 AM.

Thank you for your continued dedication to keeping our industry secure, professional, and forward-thinking. Please be patient while we get the wheels moving and figure out the best way we can set these agendas up. Keep an eye out for our official new contact details and onboarding materials coming soon!

Warm regards,

The AISP Committee
